Officers and reps for the branch are normally elected at the AGM in the spring every year.  If you are interested in putting yourself forward for a vacant officer role on the committee or would like to become a rep for your department – and want to find out more,  please speak to your local rep or get in touch with one of the committee.

Alternatively, if you don’t feel that you can commit to an actual role but would like to get involved in other ways then please get in touch via UCU@shu.ac.uk – we are always pleased to have extra help.

Thinking about being a rep yourself?  People who are the UCU reps in their local departments are the branch’s lifeblood – and we need more! Reps get free training, time off to do their union duties, and the satisfaction of making a difference by helping colleagues and being part of the union.
